Rastafarian religion, rastafarianism, rastafarian beliefs, rastafari jah

jamaican flag, jamaican flags, jamaica flag, jamaica flagsI have had this Rastafarian religion, and Rastafarianism website for over a year now. Can you believe its been that long. So I figured to make things run a little smoother, and give you a wider selection of information to read, I should put all of whats available on the front page, and not only that, provide a forum for you to ask question and find information and find other Rastas to get to know.

Rastafari religion??? Maybe not so much

Many people are unaware, that The Rastafari religion, is actually not a religion! Rastafari is a spirituality, or a “spiritual mindset.” We have no strict prayer times, or churches that we must attend. Each Rasta does what he or she feels is right from the heart. We are a loving people who try to follow the ways of “the Most High” (Jah Rastafari)  And we do this willingly in our daily life. This is why Rastafari is known as a “way of life!” Not a religion.

Rastafarianism and why there is no “ism”

Many people call our spirituality “Rastafarianism” but a Rasta man or Rasta woman will tell you there is no “ism” in Rastafari, we just are who we are, and again this is not a religion. I have never heard a Jamaican person refer to my spiritual beliefs as “Rastafarianism“, which indicates to me that this was made up by someone who has no knowledge of Rastafari.  We are Rastas, and our beliefs and way of life is called “Rastafari” no “ism” please.

5 Interesting Facts about Rastafari

What is a Rasta man?

Rastafarian Beliefs come from our hearts

Rastafarian beliefs are not something every rasta looked up in a book and made conscious decision to follow. Want to know the really cool thing about Rastafari beliefs. Every rasta pretty much has the same beliefs, like I said not educated on the subject. But, yet somehow we all believe the same thing. You could even find this out by meeting one Rasta, and asking him or her a question, and meet another rasta, and find that 9/10 you will get the same answer. Isnt that cool. All our beliefs are from what we feel inside, spiritually.

Rastafarians and love…

rasta love and dating forumdating a jamaican rastaman, learn how to here! Most Rastafarians are single! unfortunately this is true. Why? you may be wondering to your self. The reason is most of us prefer to date someone who is “Rasta” just like our selves. These spiritual beliefs tend to be rare. Therefore most of us are single. Many Rastafari men will date a woman who is not Rastafari and then later ask the woman to “convert” to his spiritual beliefs. Is this fair? I am not the one to judge. But I know this happens a lot. Me on the other hand I refuse to do that. If the guy was not embracing Rastafari before I met him, then I am not interested. If he does it just because I want him to, then that would mean it’s not coming from the heart. Is it really meaningful then? Read about how to convert and become Rastafari here.

“Rastaman vibration” what is the Rastaman vibration?

bob marley jamaica flag

bob marley jamaican flags on sale

The Rastaman vibration is something only a true Rastaman or true Rastawoman can feel. Well, that is not entirely true. We can feel it…and through or feelings, or words, or creations, we cause others to feel it. The rastaman vibration is something very special, spiritual, loving, beautiful and special. Its sort of like feeling amazing…and full of love. that is why Bob Marley wrote so many songs about love, and good positive vibes, because he wrote his songs from his own personal “rasta man vibration!” Jah Rastafari!

The Rastafari movement and what it means…

The Rastafari movement, I believe was a back to africa movement, that never happened. It was started by Marcus Garvey, who wanted Africans to reclaim their roots culture and land. Marcus Garvey was also a Jamaican, and also seen as a prophet to many Rastafarians. He once made a play in which he stated “look to africa, for the coming of a black king!” Then there was Emperor Hallie Selassie of Ethiopia. Right now for me I am not on a Rastafari movement, but I do seek to create awareness. So people can know the truth and have the right to make choices based on all information, instead of just “some” information.

“Rastafari jah” what does it mean?

When a Rasta man or Rasta woman says “Jah Rastafari” we are paying respect to the Most High. Because we know the Most High created everything. So, we must give our thanks and praises. Most Rasta pay respect to Emperor Hallie Selassie I the first. Rastafari Jah! You see…and just for the fact of that. I give thanks and praise. Jah Rastafari!!!!

bob Marley and his Rastafari songs of togetherness and love

Bob Marley is an example of what it means to be a true Rasta man. He wore dreadlocks and he free formed them. The work he did, was all about Rastafari love and togetherness. He encourage people of color to unite. He sang songs of universal and Romantic love. Rastafari is about love, it’s about freedom, it’s about the almighty Rastafari Jah. Rastafari has always been and will always be. Just like mr Bob Marley him self.

Dreadlocks and Rastafari sexiness

dreadlocks are sexyI believe Dreadlocks are a huge part of Rastafari sexiness. I was afraid that once I showed my locks people were going to look at me weird. In actuality, since I started showing my dreadlocks out in public, I feel more beautiful and more accepted by others. Bob Marley was a beautiful man, but his dreadlocks made him that much more appealing I am sure. When I see a man with locks, I definitely check him out.  If you want to learn how to get dreadlocks rasta hair, just check out this link.

why does jamaica make so many rasta man?

What is it about the island of Jamaica giving birth to so many Rasta man? Hmmm I don’t know the answer, but I feel it has something to do with the deep Christian faith among the people of this great island, and the reggae music. Bob Marley who was a super star rasta reggae singer, was born and raised in Jamaica, and never left. I am very proud of my Jamaican roots. Living in Jamaica is very inspirational on many levels, and Jah is one of the biggest influences over the people. I give thanks.

Rasta man (jamaican) – how to date him how to love him

How to love a Jamaican Rasta man

rasta man love sexy men

true rasta man Dennis Brown

I have met people who say they are Rasta and are not. So this I write here and now is not about them. I am writing about the “true” Jamaican Rasta man. The kind who is humble, considerate, and gentle. The kind any woman would fall in love with. But these men are not always easy to be with, for many reasons. To sum it all up. If you are not Rasta your self, a Jamaican Rasta man may be difficult to deal with, and hard to understand his motivations.

Be gentle with your Rastaman

Be gentle with your rastaman, he is special and a true gift from God in the deepest meaning possible. Forgive him when he hurts you and is unaware of it.

Give your Rasta man space to be him self

Give your rastaman space to be him self. If you are not Rasta, this is of the utmost importance to keeping your relationship with him healthy and thriving. Not giving your rastaman space is a very fast road to having him run away from you.

Give him lots and lots of love, but be pure and clean spiritually

how to love a rastaman

give rasta lots of love

Give your Jamaican Rasta man, lots and lots and lots…did I say lots? ….of love. The only way your “true” Jamaican rasta man is going to reject your love is if he feels you are not good for him. Which usually means you are acting like your life is to serve the man “downstairs” instead of the man “upstairs” and that we Ras do not accept. So, give him lots of love and affection, and loving attention. If you have a true Jamaican rasta man in your life ladies…believe me you don’t even need a television set, if you catch my drift. Jah makes beautiful things.

Bob Marley had many lovers and many children

Bob Marley had many lovers and as a result had many children. This was his own personal choice.

bob marley had many wives

bob Marley had many lovers

There Rastafari men who don’t even have one lover, there are Rastafari men who are very faithful, there are Rastafari men who wouldn’t even think to cheat on their women. Those men are probably with women who value the faith, and value themselves, among other things. You also have to remember, Bob Marley was a Superstar! Superstars have groupies, and we all know he is not the first man to have a baby with another woman outside of his legal marriage – and he wont be the last!

Are all Jamaican men promiscuous

are all jamaican men promiscuous

jamaican men sure are sexy

There are a lot of Jamaican men who are promiscuous. But I have said it before and I will say it again. I truly believe this is because in places like Canada and the United States they get spoiled. Very spoiled. Most of the women accept this bad behavior, so the men do it because they are getting away with it. One or two bad experiences and we women feel all the men are like that. But truly a Rasta man – a “true” Rasta man is not like that, I know that from my heart. Because The Most High created him to know “right from wrong”

Many women are attracted to the Jamaican Rasta man

Many women are very attracted to The Rasta  man. Some say its the hair (dreadlocks) I say its his inner self that attracts women. The innocence of his soul that is showing, ok yes. Combined with the dreadlocks, and some dark beautiful skin, this is very alluring. So, ladies don’t complain, if you wanted him, and you got him, just know to see someone and to know them are two different things.

My own Jamaican Rasta man, at least I hope ??

Can you believe I don’t officially have my own Jamaican Rasta man? I tell you what being a Rastafari  woman and dating, Is not an easy thing. The other day a guy from Bosnia of all places picked me up. Yes! Bosnia. These types of men are always attracted to me. That’s not what I am supposed to be typing about. There is a guy I met about 2 months ago, physically he is exactly what I asked the most high for. But can we have a relationship? I don’t know. He is in Jamaica right now and will return, in April of this year. He did seem nice ….maybe we can be an item, a Rastafari couple is a beautiful thing! Rastafari!

So why does the Jamaican Rastaman have a bad wrap in relationships?

There are some Jamaican rasta man who “take advantage” of the fact that women find them so attractive. Most are not like this. They no Jah is always watching and always listening and do not wish to be a sinner. This is the truth ladies. So please do not judge the whole bunch because of a few rotten ones. Rastaman knows right from wrong more than any other. And treating people with respect is a big part of our spirituality. Want to know if the Rastafari way of life is right for you….click here.

So whats the verdict on the jamaican rastaman?

There are many who are gentle and have good intentions. If you are a Rastafari woman you increase your chances greatly of having a loving fulfilling relationship. There are some who are “too in love with woman” and therefore sleep around. Knowing who we are and knowing what we Rasta know, these men are the exception and not the rule.

If you have a true Jamaican rastaman in your life, you are blessed you may not know it. But you are blessed. Oh and you don’t have to Jamaican to Rasta, but this is the type I am most familiar with as a Jamaican Rastafari woman.

I hope this article was fun and informative.

rastafarian beliefs on marriage and relationships

intimacy in the marriage and rastafari

It is my firm belief that rastafarian couples have some of the most sound relationships. Why? Because they have a commonality, or love understanding, and commitment, which stems from their belief in God. Now I am speaking of Jamaican rastafarians. This is what I am, this is what I am familiar with.marriage advice rastafari tips and advice for men and women

a great marriage book called “lies at the altar”…get it at amazon

50% of american marriages end in divorce – this is what the stats say

This is a fact and maybe that percentage has actually grown since the last time I checked. This is often because the ingredients were not there in the first place to make the marriage a success. What are the ingredients of successful marriage? From my spiritual perspective….

Which brings me to my next question. How many people actually fulfill their marital obligations. Now this is tricky question. There are spiritual marital obligations, social marriage obligations and the unspoken marital obligations. This is why I personally don’t believe that strongly in marriage. There is so much that gets mixed up, and things that shouldnt be the priority are, sometimes people feel pressured the moment they get married and a partner becomes disappointed because an obligation was not fulfilled.

Many Rastafarians stay single for long periods of time between relationships and would rather be “picked up” than do the picking up themselves. This im guessing is because they see the world differently and rarely look at non rastafarians as someone to settle down with.

many of my views here are based on the fact that I am female, and that I am a dread, and that I cannot be with a non rasta man. I know many rastafarian men who are very willing to date women who are not dreads, however there too exists those who are not.

rastafarians with other rastafarians

Many rastas like to date and settle down with other rastafarians. Marriage to us is the fact that we are with this person, committed to the relationship, and sharing our selves with this person in a way we do not with others. Please note, I am a jamaican rasta, so my views are different from those of say, an american rasta.

I cannot date someone outside of my rasta spiritual beliefs

It is difficult for me, as a dread, to date outside of my spiritual beliefs. I absolutely cannot do it! Even if I tried, I could not do it. As a rastafarian women, to have a rastfarian man in my life is extremely important. Not because this is part of some written doctrine, but because I need to be with someone who understands me through and through. My spirituality is a very important part of who I am. I want to share this aspect of my self with another dread, and him sharing his self with me. Most rastafarian women of Jamaican heritage feel this way.

relationships of yesterday can effect marriages of today

I feel western society is spoiled, and when you have had many partners in your life time, people cannot see their partners anymore. Sometimes we only see what we want our partners to be. So we go for an upgrade. Sometimes this means a divorce, sometimes it means extra marital affairs, sometimes it means somebody younger, slimmer, with more money. The point is we need to start accepting the one we are with as the one we chose. And allow that person to be who they are. Is god a part of your marriage?

Is god a part of your marriage or relationship?

Is god a part of your marriage or relationship? The difference between a rastafarian couple having a relationship and a non rastafarian couple is, the way we love god is constant. We stay true to his teachings and the rules of the bible. We make love num#1 in all things we do daily. Love all things as creations of God and perhaps your relationships and or marriage, will be a lot healthier!A marriage should be about love, understanding and communication…this is the basis for a good healthy bond…rastafari! don’t get married, unless you both really want to here are some pointers for a healthy happy relationship…

discuss everything

make honesty a priority no matter what the subject

decide to stay commited to the relationship

share bible verses and bible readings together

put god first.

If you are dating a rastafarian…

If you have the privilege of dating a rastafarian man or woman, you are a “lucky son of a …..” Really, i mean that… you most likely have someone who is 100 % committed to the relationship and who loves you like no other will. Rastafarians can be, and are pure love in human form. Not only that, chances are they see you the way god sees you. It doesn’t get better than that.

Marriage – a rastafarian perspective

Do rastafarians believe in marriage? We don’t make a big deal about getting married, but most of us who are involved in serious relationships with people who are say, christian, or catholic ( non Rastafarians) we have very little issue with getting married if it’s what will make our partner happy. The success any relationship, Rastafarians believe, is a healthy loving relationship is about the commitment of the 2 people involved, from the heart.

what does it really mean to get married?

My question as a rastafarian woman to the people reading this is…what does it really mean to get married anyway? It doesn’t come with any “guarantees”. Relationships should be a bout love and only love. I feel many people who get married now a days, do so for reasons other than just love.

list of some off wrong reasons a couple might get married

  • all their friends are married
  • for financial gain from the marriage
  • to be able to say, “I am married”
  • to have their own wedding
  • to feel more secure in the relationship
  • to prevent child rearing out-of-wedlock
