Hi guys. I recently got into beading my own rasta jewelry. I Started doing it for fun, but now I do it cause I find it so relaxing. I have made a big “Bongo necklace” lately that I just adore. Here are some photos of me wearing it.
Each black bead is 30mm long and 8mm in diameter. The whole necklace is about 1 foot and a half long. I brought 1 of these necklaces to my friends store…the necklace didn’t last 4 minutes in the store….the customer that came in behind me bought it right way. Wow. Here is a picture of this Jah necklace against a black background.
This necklace has Rasta Colors in it. Red yellow and green and black beads. The black represents the black people of Africa, the red represents the love of the Rasta people and the blood shed of slavery. The green represents, the Rich Agriculture of the African land and Global Unity, The yellow represents the hot sunshine that makes the African land so hot and fertile, and also hope for love and peace for all people. I like to call this necklace my “Rastafari love necklace.”
The beads are big but the necklace is not heavy. Sometimes I forget I am wearing it. This necklace is very much an Ethnic, Tribal type necklace in look, but because of the color meanings it is Rastafari and Caribbean too.
Thanks for checking it out. Jah Bless.
