Dating a Rastafari Guy
He may not be a Rasta at all!
Some guys have dreadlocks and want others to believe that they are Rastafari. Test him. Say the word fu*k in his presence. If he looks at you like you have just stepped out of a space ship, then he is definitely a Rastafari. If he looks at you and says, that’s ok no big deal. He is probably not a Rasta. Rastas hate cussing. Just tell him you wanted to be sure he was a real Rasta not a False Rasta…he will smile and understand! Tell him you will never do it again, and that you understand that swearing is offensive. The rest of this article assumes you are dating a true Rastafari guy.
Eating meat is offensive to a Rastafari
Rastas’ do not eat meat. They also do not enjoy others eating meat in their presence. So just do not do this if you want to stay on his good side. Eating meat is seen as eating “dead flesh” in Rastafari culture. It is an abomination, and goes against the Rules and laws of Jah.
He is not obsessed with s*x
Rasta men are not in a hurry to have s*x. Rastafari men like and enjoy intimacy, but they don’t see it as a priority in life to mate. Rastafari men priorities are, love, monogamy, trust, and of course unity with his mate. Not simply s*x.
He is looking for his Wife
A typical Rastafari Guy has an image in his head of his ultimate happiness…here it is….”he has a home for him, his Empress, his Rasta children, and their faith. His wife is natural, with dreadlocks, wearing a long skirt. His Children play quietly and their hair is in locks too. He is helping his Empress to cook a nice ital meal for the family….” You get the picture. He is looking for this woman….in you!
His dreadlocks are sacred –
Your Rasta guy may not allow you to see his dreadlocks until you get serious. If he is one who wears his dreadlocks out, he may prefer that you didn’t try to touch them. Restrictions are a natural part of being Rastafari, and dreadlocks are considered sacred and holy. Just respect his hair. Allow him to start conversations with you about his locks when the time is right…when he is comfortable.
Fresh breath and a fresh “V…..” are sooo Important….
Rasta believes cleanliness is an element of love for Jah. So don’t go out to meet him with a sour V, thinking he wont notice or wont care. He will be very disappointed and may never ever speak to you again. Just be sure to shower, and brush your teeth, before getting together with for a date with your Rastafari Guy.
He sees you as an expression of God
Your Rastafari guy sees you as an expression of God. That has to be a good thing right? Well yes it is. But it also means he expects you to act like you know you are an expression of God. So love your self, respect your self and show him that he is not wrong. If you really want to impress him say. “Give thanks” After you eat. He will be amazed. You can tell him you read it on my blog ….lol…

Monogamy is everything to a Rastafari man
Rastafari men do not believe in dating and dating “other people.” If a Rastafari guy is dating you, you can bet, you are the only one! They expect the same in return, or they will be done with you very, very fast!
He is serious about settling down
A Rasta man is serious about settling down and starting a family. He does not “date” for very long without expressing his sentiments towards you. If he asks you to make some changes, its only because he wants to get serious with you so take it as a compliment. he may ask you to lock your hair, or go vegan, or care more for your health. A Rastafari man is a good catch. If you are dating one, know that you are blessed.
