Rastafarianism: Q & A

What, why, what does, how…. Rastafari Forum Questions & Answers

Hey guys. I wanted to create a space where those curious about Rastafari could have their questions answered. Ask your questions here. I do not know everything, and my answers will most likely be spiritually based. The reason is, I was born with my faith, so most of the answers about how to live as a Rasta, are already within me. I do not make a point of studying my faith. So you decide if your question is right for me. I came up with the idea to answer your questions here, because I know many people turn to the web for answers….

Most of my answers will come from….

  • The King James version bible
  • The laws that Jah has written on my heart
  • My own life experience
  • What I have learned from other Rastafari.

Ask your Rasta Questions in the Comments

So I will try to come up with some common questions and put them here for now. Any questions beyond, I encourage you to ask me in the comments. I look forward to engaging with you, and answering your questions. Thanks.  If you ask inappropriate questions or deliberately be rude, I will delete and ignore your question or comment. So please keep this in mind. Thanks.

Please keep in mind….Rastafari is not a Religion….

Please keep in mind, Rastafari is not a Religion. Many people expect Religious answers to their questions about Rastafari, but they do not understand that their question is incorrect. Here is an example a person may ask….”How many times a day do Rasta pray?” My answer would be… the question in itself is wrong, you should ask, how important is prayer in Rastafari, is it done in a particular way? So if the questions is wrong I may say so. Here is another incorrect question about the livity. Is it true Rasta men beat their women? Any man of any faith can beat any woman, its not the faith that does the beating its the man himself. So, no not all Rasta men hit the woman they are with, and abuse of all kinds, are against the faith.

So Please feel free to ask your question, sometimes other commentators enjoy answering questions too. one more thing.

People seeking argument as entertainment….

If you are one of those people who come on line, posing as someone who wants to learn about the Rastafari livity, but you are really looking for an argument, I will not entertain you.

Thank you Blessed. love.

Why do Rasta not eat meat? My friend says I can…

First of all you must understand, most of the people on line who are giving Rastafari advice are not Rastafari. I would say 99 percent, and yes some of them even have websites. I kid you not, and they are answering questions on Rastafari. How can you take advice from someone who is not living this way of life them self. This tells me their information is “hand me down.” Meaning it does not come from Jah, and it does not come from their own life experience.

What is the meaning of eating meat in a spiritual sense as a Rasta?

No you are not allowed to eat meat as a Rasta. People say it is allowed because they want to be “easily included” into the faith, instead of “easily excluded.” They want to paint Rastafari as something they can easily include them self into without doing any hard work, or changing of habits. So they, people who are not Rasta, will say eating meat is allowed. No Rasta do not eat meat, unless you want to be a fake Rasta, then you can do whatever you want, and call yourself a Rasta. We Rasta do not eat meat because we embrace life. Eating dead flesh, goes against our belief of embracing life. It is written in the bible anyway, which I  will post here once I find it. Real Rasta do not eat meat. Please do not run me down that they do. If you see someone with locks eating meat, that is not  a Tafari. That is all, please do not run me down in the comments about how I am wrong I will just delete it. Ask a person who was born a Rastafari they will tell you the same thing.

What is The Meaning of Dreadlocks in Rastafari?

The meaning of dreadlocks in Rastafari is a physical representation of a spiritual vow. Dreadlocks represent fidelity, and commitment and awareness of Jah Rastafari. It is born as an inner yearning most f of the time, but some people come into it through logic. It can “just make sense” for them. Because really if Jah is the real God, then some people will natuallry gravitate towards him and his ways with out it being inborn, it just makes sense. So locks, mean finding the truth or expressing the truth of life. This is not the most extensive explanation, but that is it for now.
